MOA Architects (Making Other Architecture)
MOA was founded in 2008. We are a professional architectural consultancy firm that is committed to design excellence, innovation and quality service at all levels on operation, from conceptualization, production and project management.
MOA’s philosophy is to apply sophisticated, creative and efficient solutions to our work based on client’s needs and visions.
We possess exceptional understanding in architectural design, construction standards, local by-laws and local authority requirements. We take pride in the successful completion of projects from out past experience ranging from private residences to large scaled housing developments, smaller sized retails shops and commercial shopping centers.
Ar. Tan Ewe Liat
Director
Graduated with an Architectural Bachelors from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) Skudai, Johor Bahru. AR. Tan Ewe Liat accumulated his early working experience through several architectural firms in Penang during his professional training.
In year 2005, Ewe Liat was involved in the master planning design for a province in China, in collaboration with the local Chinese architects.
He was promoted to a senior executive in 2007, and was given the opportunity to participate in construction implementation and management for an award-winning condominium in Kuala Lumpur. As the project team leader, he established his skills in site coordination among the overseas design firms, local practicing consultants and foreign renowned construction specialists.
As a co-founder of MOA. Associates Sdn. Bhd. in year 2009, backed with a strong foundation, he is now ready to perform and uphold strong Quality Excellence of work. He had since set the office management and drawing management system, in preparation towards enhancement of Quality and Productivity of the firm.
Ar. Hung Sing Ing
Director
Graduated with an Architectural Bachelors from University Sains Malaysia in 2001, AR Hung Sing Ing has worked in architectural practices in both Penang and Kuala Lumpur, which provides him understanding of development requirements in different states.
He then joined and led the in-house design teams for a developer’s office. His gamut of experience ranged from conceptual design to site implementation of various residential and resort projects.
In 2005, he joined an established architectural practice and completed various condominiums, bungalows, shop offices. He was promoted as an Associate in year 2008.
Sing Ing joined MOAA in 2012 and placed particular emphasis in construction technology and contract implementation while implementing and improving Quality Procedures.
Ar. Lee Cherng Yih
Director
Cherng Yih received his architecture degree from RMIT University, Melbourne in 2002. Before he joined MOA Architects in 2014, Cherng Yih gained his industrial experience while working in several renowned international offices in Melbourne, Shanghai and London. Cherng Yih also teaches at the graduate school of architecture at Taylor’s University Malaysia. He is currently a licensed architect under Board of Architects Malaysia and a facilitator for Green Building Index.
He founded Formzero in 2012, an architectural research studio injected with the ideology of reengaging the architecture with tropical landscape in the urban context. His design approach often focuses on challenging the conventional architectural typologies and the boundaries of urban realm.
